Pedicure is a process in which aesthetic and hygienic care of the feet is done. It must be done by a professional pedicurist, usually in a beauty salon or spa. Professional pedicure care is provided in our Diamond Spa center. It is important that feet are well-groomed and healthy just like hands.
The pedicure process includes following steps:
Preparation of Feet: Before starting the pedicure process, feet are cleaned and any nail polish or residue on your nails are removed. Your feet can be soaked in hot water or rested in a foot bath.
Nail Trimming and Shaping: The pedicurist cuts and shapes your toenails. The overgrown parts of the nails are cut and given a smooth shape and the edges can be smoothed.
Nail Care: The dead skin and cuticles around the nails are carefully cleaned. Also, it is ensured that the cuticles are cut and arranged properly.
Cleaning the Skin of the Foot: The pedicurist may use a special tool or stone to remove hardened skin or calluses from the soles of the feet. This process makes the feet look softer and smoother.
Peeling and Massage: Peeling can be applied to the feet. It removes dead skin cells and rejuvenates the skin. Then, pedicurist can perform a foot massage. Foot massage provides relaxation, increases blood circulation and reduces stress.
Moisturizing and Applying Nail Polish: The pedicurist applies a moisturizing cream or lotion to the feet. This maintains the moisture level of the feet and keeps the skin soft. Then, optionally, lacquer or nail polish can be applied.
